New Players
New players may register their interest in joining the club before the opening of registrations for the upcoming season.

Returning Players
You will be asked to confirm and enroll for the next season approximately 4-6 weeks before the end of the current season.  With a large number of players in the club, organising each season takes considerable time.  Our top priority is to ensure we have spots for our current players and enough coaches for the planned teams.

If you would like to volunteer to help with the season setup, please refer to the Volunteer tab at the top of the page.

Can I register for two teams?

Places in the club are very limited, so this is usually unlikely. However, there are occasions where we may invite some players to play in two (2) teams.  If this happens, the Age Group Coordinator will arrange with the Club Registrar to add the player to the second team. The club will then manually add a second set of club registration fees to your financial record and provide an updated statement of fees to be paid for the season.  Please ensure this is completed prior to setting up any payment plans.

How do we know what colour uniform to wear?

Carina vs Carina

All Cobras teams will wear the Cobras green top and uniform black shorts, unless a colour clash occurs. In this situation the second team listed on the draw (Team B/Away team) is required to wear an alternate playing top.   This would apply for games against other Cobras teams and the 2nd Team will wear black top and black shorts.

How are players selected for teams?

Where possible, we aim to keep players of similar skill together across seasons and age groups. An exception to this rule occurs during the transition from winter to summer seasons, as some players move up an age group based on their date of birth.

At the end of each season, Age Group Coordinators provide feedback about teams and players. In some cases, certain players may be recommended for different divisions, and this will be discussed with parents accordingly.

Players aspiring to progress into higher divisions are encouraged to speak to their Coach. We offer many opportunities for players to develop their skills in addition to weekly training sessions.

Training

Cobras provides team training on days and times arranged with the coach and players of each team. Additionally, some age groups have squad training focused on skills, usually ending with a scrimmage. Anyone can attend their age group squad session as an extra. Days and locations are listed below in the attached document. Please bring along a full water bottle, sports shoes with non-marking soles and a basketball.

Some age groups have multiple training sessions. You can attend 1 or more sessions per week. Beginners are encouraged to attend more than once per week.

It's important to check your emails each week, as occasionally some venues are not available for training on certain dates throughout the year.

Most of the training venues are at schools and have specific rules regarding parking, noise and spectator numbers.
